MEETSSS Conference for “music industry professionals and artists of all genders” will have a focus on female-identifying talent.

shesaid.so, the global network for women in the music industry, has announced the first instalment of MEETSSS, a conference for “music industry professionals and artists of all genders” that will have a “a clear but non-exclusive focus on female-identifying talent.”

The conference will take place in Portimão, Portugal from 3-6 October and will run a series of talks and music showcases with a focus on issues related to the music industry. It will be shesaid.so’s first large-scale international event, and marks five years since the female-led community launched in 2014.

Speakers are set to include Sónar Festival’s head of communications, Georgia Taglietti, body positivity influencer Chidera Eggerue (AKA The Slumflower) plus former head of corporate development at Superfly Jennifer Justice, who also heads up the female-focused advisory and legal firm The Justice Dept. They will speak on a broad range of topics including, running your own business in the music industry, mental health and wellness, inclusiveness and diversity.

According to the MEETSSS official website, the 4-day conference will embody “collaboration, diversity and inclusion”, “focus on personal and professional growth for female-identifying professionals in the music industry”, “nurture community among music executives and creatives of all genders” and “showcase the work of women, non-binary and other underrepresented talent in the music business”.

The conference is designed for music executives, artists and creatives working in entertainment, with some events also open to the public.
