Goose Island celebrates National IPA Day with new art mural and giveaway

Goose Island

The Chicago brewmasters marked National IPA Day, on 1 August, with a special, one-off art mural.

Located on Shoreditch’s Ebor Street, the piece can be viewed from 2-4 August. Featuring 2500 spray-painted cans, 50 will be taken down each day and given to passersby this week. These can be swapped for a pint of Goose IPA at The Goose Island Brewpub on Shoreditch high street.

Furthermore, the beer company are celebrating the special occasion with a giveaway. Five of the 50 cans set to be given away each day will include a reward. Prizes to be won are a trip for two to Chicago – where Goose Island began – beer for an entire year, a £50 bar tab at The Goose Island Brewpub, discount on food and a Goose Island t-shirt. To enter the prize draw, contestants must simply view the mural this week, receive a beer can from the Goose Island team and take it to the Goose Island Brewpub. Participants must be over 18 years of age.

Winners will be announced between 4.30pm (BST) and 6.30pm (BST) today (2 August), and 1.30pm (BST) to 3.30pm (BST) over the weekend (3-4 August).

First formed in 1988, the Chicago company champions the finest barrel-aged beer. Goose Island’s formula is created in the US with hops from the Elk Mountain Farms in northwest Idaho. Check out more images of the mural below.
