IDLES share furious new track I Dream Guillotine

The Mercury Prize nominees have dropped a new single.

IDLES have released the track I Dream Guillotine along with a new video for the single Mercedes Marxist. I Dream Guillotine features on the B-side to the 7″ vinyl of Mercedes Marxist, released today (2 August) via Partisan Records. Directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, three-minute visual features Kris Hitchen, star of the critically acclaimed new Ken Loach film Sorry We Missed You.

Last week, the Bristol band’s sophomore album Joy as an Act of Resistance was nominated for the 2019 Mercury Prize. At Crack Magazine, we noted the album for its “heady, confusing rush of present-day fury,” describing it as “a record that bristles with the political and emotional energy of punk’s very best.”

IDLES are also gearing up for a sold out UK tour this December. The group will perform in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and at London’s Alexandra Palace.
