Oneohtrix Point Never discusses Uncut Gems score in new documentary

The Safdie brothers-directed film hits cinemas in the UK tomorrow (10 December).

Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never is the focus of a new Behind The Soundtrack documentary. Centred around his score for the Safdie brothers’ latest film Uncut Gems, the Moog-produced mini-doc sees Lopatin discuss the process of composing the film’s soundtrack.

Lopatin also plays a number of major cues from the film’s score on a Moog, breaking down the specific patches and synth tools he used to create it. Speaking about the process of composing the score in the documentary Lopatin explains “at some point in May it became clear that if we didn’t bang out one cue a day we were going to fall really behind”, likening the time pressure to the plot of the film itself.
