The pair have urged people to help.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have paired up to donate $500,000 to “some of the many organisations carrying out selfless and courageous work aiding and supporting communities and wildlife” harmed in the Australian bushfires.

Cave has shared a statement online, which reads: “Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by the fires destroying our beloved Australia.”

Cave isn’t the only musician showing his support. DJ Plead, Or:la, Logic1000 and Cop Envy have released new music and plan to donate all proceeds towards charities supporting communities affected by the fires.

The death toll has risen to 26 people. Over a third of Kangaroo Island has been burned from wildfires, and residents of the worst-affected parts of Victoria have been advised to leave their homes. If you’d like to help, donations can be made to the Victorian Bushfire Disaster Appeal, the First Nations Fire Relief Fund or NSW Rural Fire Service.
