The Call Me By Your Name star is in talks to play the folk legend in a new film.

Deadline has confirmed that Searchlight Pictures has enlisted James Mangold to direct a new biopic on Bob Dylan. According to the publication, Timothée Chalamet – who stars in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women – is to play the lead role as the musician.

While the film is currently untitled, it’s been referred to online as Going Electric. Bob Dylan is reportedly working with Searchlight on the film, which will focus on his rise, particularly when he made the transition from playing acoustic music to picking up the electric guitar.

Mangold is best known for directing films such as Girl, Interrupted, Walk the Line, Logan and Cop Land. His last project was 2019’s Ford v Ferrari.
