2020 will be the first time its history the competition has been cancelled.
2020’s edition of the Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled. The competition’s organisers announced the decision via a statement on Twitter this afternoon, explaining that the uncertainty around the coronavirus pandemic has made continuing with the event – which was due to take place in Rotterdam in May – “impossible.”
This will be the first time in its 64-year history that the competition has not taken place. Read the full statement from the European Broadcasting Union below.
