Daft Punk haven’t agreed to score Dario Argento’s new film, despite director’s comments, says producer

Dario Argento Daft Punk

The director claimed the French duo were on board in an interview with an Italian newspaper.

Earlier this week Suspiria-director Dario Argento revealed that Daft Punk would score his new film, Occhiali Neri. Now, the film’s producers, Urania Pictures and Getaway Films, have issued a statement clarifying that Daft Punk haven’t agreed or even begun discussions to work on Argento’s upcoming project.

Instead, the producers claim, Argento’s comments in La Repubblica, reflected “a desire” to work with the French duo but that “there has been no agreement nor discussions between both parties. The movie is currently in pre-production, and Dario’s wish is not on today’s agenda.”

Occhiali Neri is due to start filming in September.
