Ryuichi Sakamoto shares two new concert films

Two new Sakamoto concerts to help you through lockdown.

Ryuichi Sakamoto will share two concert recordings for free in a bid to ease fans’ lockdown boredom. On Friday (24 April), Sakamoto will premiere Ryuichi Sakamoto – Playing the Orchestra 2014, a performance recorded with the Tokyo philharmonic orchestra with Sakamoto on piano and serving as conductor.

Meanwhile, on 1 May, the acclaimed composer and musician will share a Yellow Magic Orchestra concert, recorded in 2008 at Massive Attack’s edition of Meltdown Festival. Both concerts will be available online for free until 22 May and 29 May respectively. Watch Playing the Orchestra in the player above from 1pm tomorrow.
