Tickets for the festival’s 2020 edition will be valid next year.

Primavera Sound has been postponed until 2021. The Barcelona festival’s organisers announced the decision today (11 May), saying that they are “devastated and are terribly sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

Primavera was originally due to take place 2-6 June but was rescheduled back in March to 26-30 August in light of the coronavirus outbreak. The festival will now take place 2-6 June 2021.

“In the face of the evolution of the Covid-19 health crisis, we find ourselves obliged to postpone the next edition of Primavera Sound Barcelona, for reasons of force majeure, until next year: from 2nd to 6th June 2021,” organisers said in a statement.

“We are devastated and are terribly sorry for the inconvenience caused, but the health and well-being of our festivalgoers and all of the people involved in the festival has always been and is still our absolute priority. We cannot thank you enough for your patience, love and understanding in this uncertain scenario. We will never forget this.”

Ticket holders will have the option to hold onto their tickets or apply for a refund, with those who decide to keep them eligible for “special benefits” at next year’s event. Refunds will be available from 3 June this year. The first names for next year’s edition will also be announced on 3 June. Read the statement from Primvera’s organisers in full below.
