The single is taken from Roc Nation’s upcoming album in aid of social justice, Reprise.
Jorja Smith has shared a new song, By Any Means. The track is taken from Roc Nation’s upcoming Reprise project, a new album curated by the label which will split profits between organisations assisting victims of police violence, hate crimes and civil rights violations.
“The inspiration behind By Any Means really came from going to the Black Lives Matter protest and leaving thinking, what can I do to keep this conversation going?” Smith said of the track.
Further details of Reprise are yet be confirmed, however, a press release states the project is “an initiative comprised of multiple artists uniting to let their voices be heard in musical protest… compiled with hopes to bring awareness to social justice issues”. Profits from the album will be split between the Gathering for Justice, NACDL Foundation for Criminal Justice, Equal Justice Initiative Mission, and the Cop Accountability Project.
