Apple Music have announced two new live global radio stations, along with a rebrand of Beats 1.
Beats 1, the streaming service’s flagship station, will now be known as Apple Music 1 with anchor hosts Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden, Brooke Reese, Dotty, Hanuman Welch, Matt Wilkinson, Nadeska, Rebecca Judd, and Travis Mills.
The station will also host new shows from a range of high-profile artists including Action Bronson, Billie Eilish, Elton John, Frank Ocean, Vince Staples and The Weeknd. New shows have been announced from Aitch, J Balvin, HAIM, Lady Gaga, Young M.A, and more.
Boiler Room has also announced they will be bringing DJ mixes to the platform with their “Streaming From Isolation” featuring sets from Photonz, Riobamba, Donna Leake and more. 100% of royalties from tracks streamed via the sets will go straight to rights-holders and the DJs themselves will also be compensated. Boiler Room will also have a weekly show on Apple Music 1 – Boiler Room Radio – where listeners can find in-depth interviews and mixes from featured artists.
Two other stations will launch on the platform. Apple Music Hits promises to broadcast “celebrating everyone’s favourite songs from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s.” While Apple Music Country will focus solely on country music.
