The event will be Smith’s only staged performance this year.
Patti Smith has announced a one-off livestreamed performance. Taking place on 4 September, An Evening Of Words and Music with Patti Smith will see the legendary musician read from her memoir Year of the Monkey and perform a selection of songs alongside longtime bandmate Tony Shanahan.
The evening will be broadcast from the Murmrr Theatre in Brooklyn and filmed by cinematographer Matthew Schroeder. It will be Smith’s only staged event this year. Tickets go on sale this Friday (7 August).
