Migos member Takeoff accused of rape

Takeoff

TW: rape, sexual assault.

Migos member Takeoff has been accused of rape. As The New York Times report, a lawsuit was filed yesterday (5 August) by a woman who alleges the rapper assaulted her at a house party in Encino, California in late June.

The alleged victim, identified in court papers only as Jane Doe, states that she was assaulted in an upstairs bedroom at the party after telling Takeoff, born Kirshnik Khari Ball, that she did not want to have sex.

The woman attended hospital the same day to seek medical care, the lawsuit states. The hospital alerted the Los Angeles Police Department, who confirmed that an investigation has been opened.

Responding to the lawsuit Takeoff’s lawyer Drew Findling said: “We have reviewed the allegations and have similarly done our own due diligence. What has become abundantly clear is that the allegations made against Takeoff are patently and provably false. The claims and statements made regarding this lawsuit indicate that the plaintiffs’ representatives have not spoken with relevant witnesses or reviewed available evidence.”

Neama Rahmani, a lawyer for the alleged victim said that LAPD had not spoken to his client, despite efforts to make her available to investigators and that she had decided to pursue a civil case after losing faith in the process of seeking a criminal conviction.
