Manchester-based DJ and producer Henrietta Smith-Rolla (aka AFRODEUTSCHE) will release the score she created for Kamali, the 2019 documentary which follows a 7-year-old skateboarder in India.
Kamali was released last year and received a BAFTA nomination for Best Short Film. Smith-Rolla reduced her setup to just the piano for this project – creating a moving accompaniment to the film’s touching story. The score will be released via SA Recordings, the label arm of Spitfire Audio, on 8 October.

As well as dropping the score both physically and digitally, Smith-Rolla has unveiled a sample library for fellow producers and composers. According to a press release, the library is “a set of tools for compositional storytelling, based around colour.”
