Nilüfer Yanya explores the fear of flying in new video Crash

We’re premiering the video for Nilüfer Yanya’s latest single Crash.

Directed by her sister Molly Daniel, the visual explores the fear of flying, otherwise known as aerophobia. Yanya can be seen performing in an aircraft, wearing a flight attendant’s uniform.

“Last year, doing a lot of touring I found myself becoming more and more anxious each time I boarded a plane,” Yanya explains, “something which was new for me as I’ve never had a fear of flying. With each flight we took it felt like the turbulence was getting worse and I was convinced my luck was due to run out. I didn’t write Crash about being on an aeroplane but I really like it visually as an embodiment of the song.”

Daniel and Yanya often work together as creative partners for their projects, with Daniel creating the visuals for Yanya’s songs. In an interview with Crack Magazine, Daniel said, “All our family get togethers are always spent discussing what we could do together.”

Crash is taken from Yanya’s Feeling Lucky? EP, out on 11 December. Watch the video for Crash in the player above.
