The reworks will feature on Polachek’s Standing At The Gate: Remix Collection deluxe remix LP.
Fresh off the back of her Unsung with Crack Magazine episode exploring the influence of Prefab Sprout on her work, Caroline Polachek is back in our lives to announce a new remix edition of her 2019 album Pang.
Standing At The Gate: Remix Collection is scheduled for release in April 2021 and features four new remixes plus alternate versions of tracks “New Normal” and “Parachute”, as well as a cover of The Corrs’ “Breathless”. A.G. Cook’s remix of “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” also features alongside an extended version of “The Gate”.
The new remixes come from a slew of artists. There’s Toro y Moi, who takes on “Hit Me Where It Hurts” with Deftones’ Chino Moreno tapped for vocals. There’s also a remix of “Hey Big Eyes” by George Clanton, a reworking of “Ocean of Tears” by PC Music affiliate Umru plus a remix of “Door” from Oklou.
Standing At The Gate: Remix Collection is out on 16 April via Polachek’s Orchard label imprint Perpetual Novice. Pre-order the vinyl here.
