Brighton band Squid have revealed the release date for their debut album Bright Green Field.
Produced by Dan Carey of Speedy Wunderground, the album will drop on 7 May 2021, via Warp Records. Drummer and vocalist Oliver Judge says “This album has created an imaginary cityscape. The tracks illustrate the places, events and architecture that exist within it.”.
He goes on to explain “Previous releases were playful and concerned with characters, whereas this album is darker and more concerned with place—the emotional depth of the music has deepened.”
Ahead of the release, the Brighton based band have also unveiled a music video for their lead single “narrator”, which features Martha Skye Murphy – making it their first official music video.
