New images from the forthcoming theme park have been released.
The team behind Studio Ghibli’s theme park have shared new teasers online. The forthcoming park, located at the Aichi Expo Memorial Park in Japan’s Aichi prefecture, will open its doors in 2022.
The images reveal the team’s concept art for a replica of Howl’s Moving Castle. According to Tokyo Shimbun, the building will be four to five storeys tall and will live in the Witch Valley area. The new images also reveal the team’s plans to build Iron Town from Princess Mononoke. The theme park will be divided into five areas: Ghibli’s Giant Warehouse, Dondoko Forest, Princess Mononoke Village, Springtime of Life (or Youth Hill) and Witch Valley. Check out the teasers below.

Hayao Miyazaki’s son, Goro, recently revealed that the famed Studio Ghibli founder came out of retirement because he “needed to create something in order to live, basically”. Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki told IndieWire: “Miyazaki is making the new film [How Do You Live?] for his grandson. It’s his way of saying, ‘Grandpa is moving on to the next world, but he’s leaving behind this film.’”
