The imprint launches with a two-track release from its founder.
Manchester-based DJ and producer Anz is launching her very own label. Entitled OTMI (“Otras Mitades for long”), the label will see Anz pairing together loose tunes and packaging them up into two-track releases.
“Otras Mitades (other halves) comes from this Spanish phrase I’ve always loved, ‘mi otra mitad de naranja’, or ‘the other half of my orange’, a way of describing a soulmate,” explains Anz in a statement. “The idea for the label is to find the other halves of loose tracks; their soulmates I guess!”
OTMI launches with a release from its founder. “One track about coming undone, the other about building again,” says the BBC Radio 1 resident. We’re told to expect releases from Anz’s friends, family and “co-conspirators” later down the line, with OTMI’s second release scheduled for the “tail end” of 2021. Anz has previously released on labels such as 2 B Real and Hessle Audio.
