The femme culture co-founder will release her Euphoric Melodies EP this May via the Ninja Tune sub-label.

London-based producer and DJ Elkka has announced a new EP. The forthcoming project is titled Euphoric Melodies and is scheduled for release via Ninja Tune’s Technicolour imprint. To accompany the EP’s announcement, Elkka, aka Emma Kirby, has also unveiled the project’s lead single Burnt Orange.

The track’s been described as “a sentimental homage to family, fit for sun kissed dancefloors and front rooms alike”. In a statement, Elkka adds: “I wanted to create music for both intimate and public space.” Listen to Burnt Orange below.

Euphoric Melodies started out as an exploration of what pulls me in, what makes me feel those moments of elation when writing music or listening to it or just when living life,” says Elkka on the new five-track EP. “The underlying theme seems to be warmth, euphoria and nostalgia…which is what plays out in this EP in different forms. Little did I know that as the EP came together nostalgia for euphoria would be so prevalent.”

Euphoric Melodies follows Elkka’s high-emotion offering I. Miss. Raving., which was released last year on Local Action.

Technicolour will release Euphoric Melodies on 21 May. Pre-order the EP here, and revisit Elkka’s Crack Mix below.
