A new book on Daft Punk is coming out.
Written by author and journalist Ben Cardew, Daft Punk’s Discovery: The Future Unfurled is a new book that focuses on the duo’s Discovery album – their seminal LP that was originally released in 2001. Inside, the book features over 25 interviews and includes unreleased talks with the duo.
A statement reads: “It’s a global view of Discovery as a cultural phenomenon, placing the album at the centre of celebrity culture, fan clubs, video, the music business etc., while also examining its profound musical impact.”
In February, the electronic duo announced their split. The announcement was made via a eight-minute video called Epilogue, which said on the screen: “1993-2021”. Cardew wrote the book before the pair disbanded, and the book has been reworked since.
Daft Punk’s Discovery is due out later this year, in September, via Velocity Press. You can pre-order it now.
