Blood Orange remixes Sugababes track Same Old Story

Lifted from the 20th anniversary edition of Sugababes’ debut album One Touch.

Blood Orange has remixed Sugababes’ 2000 single Same Old Story. The new remix is taken from a forthcoming reissue of the pop band’s debut album One Touch, which is scheduled for release on 1 October. The expanded project also features reworks from the likes of Metronomy and MNEK. Back in 2013, Blood Orange – real name Dev Hynes – worked on track Frontline with the UK girl group.

“Dev’s music has become the soundtrack to my life in recent years,” Sugababes’ Siobhán Donaghy told NME. “For me it was a no brainer to ask him to be involved in our anniversary project given the amazing experience of working with him previously with the girls and also knowing that he grew up with One Touch and understood the record.”

“The brief was simple, pick whatever track you want and do whatever you like with it. For me he has delivered the perfect 2021 update to our sound and I’ve had it on repeat ever since.”

Last week, Mykki Blanco dropped their new mini-LP Broken Hearts & Beauty Sleep. The release featured a new collaboration with Hynes.
