The Weeknd wants to work with Arca

The Weeknd is on the cover of the latest GQ issue.

In the cover story, Abel Tesfaye reveals he’d “love to work with Arca”. On the former Crack Magazine star, he says, “Arca’s great.” The cover story landed online today (2 August), and Arca has already responded, tweeting: “yes abel :]”

Aside from the KiCk i star, Tesfaye adds he’d like to collaborate with Kanye again and calls Tyler, the Creator “somebody that I really admire”. Elsewhere in the interview, Tesfaye talks about his Kiss Land LP, wanting to have kids, and the distinction between himself and the character of The Weeknd. On his chosen moniker, he says, “I like that I have that as an option to escape Abel a little bit. I definitely loved it more back then than I do now. I love my name now, though: Abel.”

The Weeknd’s last full-length album was 2020’s After Hours. In that same year, Arca released KiCk i and 100 versions of the album’s track Riquiquí. The release is called Riquiquí;Bronze-Instances (1-100).
