London-based promoters Eat Your Own Ears have announced a new label today (18 February).

The first signing for Eat Your Own Ears Recordings is BLOODMOON. This new venture, in partnership with Virgin Music Label & Artist Services, is designed to continue their support of emerging talent.

Furthermore, they’ve announced a compilation which will feature a mix of old, new and live recordings and unreleased tracks. It’ll feature music from the likes of Four Tet, Anna Calvi, Metronomy, Caribou, Sylvan Esso, Neneh Cherry, Mount Kimbie and more.

Speaking on the new label imprint, co-founder and director of Eat Your Own Ears Tom Baker says, “I’ve always had an interest in starting a label but just never managed to find the time or head space to actually work out how to go about it.”

“After a chance meeting with an artist manager friend while running along the canal in Hackney Marshes, I was introduced to the legendary Jim Chancellor, MD of Virgin Music Label and also Fiction Records, after a fair few lockdown zooms, Eat Your Own Ears Recordings was born.”

The promoters celebrate their 20th anniversary this year. Having started out at 93 Feet East on Bricklane in 2002, they’ve since expanded and put on shows with Arca, Self Esteem, Mount Kimbie, Jpegmafia and Neneh Cherry.
