The Smile have released a new track and video entitled Skirting on the Surface.
Directed by Mark Jenkin, the video features band member Thom Yorke journeying through The Rosevale Mine – a tin mine in Cornwall. The grainy, black-and-white video was hand developed using water from the mine.
Last summer, Radiohead bandmates Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood teamed up with Sons of Kemet’s Tom Skinner to form The Smile. The trio debuted the project at Glastonbury Festival’s Live At Worthy Farm event in May 2021. So far, they’ve released the singles You Will Never Work in Television Again and The Smoke.
The Smile are set to embark on a UK and European tour from May to July this year. Tour dates have been booked for cities such as Amsterdam, London, Manchester, Paris and Barcelona.
