Kojey Radical is asking artists to donate unused sounds to a Beat Bank

The rapper, who recently released his debut, Reasons to Smile, is a mentor on Dr. Martens’ Tough As You initiative.

Tough As You is a project launched by Dr. Martens to help support the next generation of creative talent. The initiative pairs established artists with emerging musicians, and aims to create a more inclusive, diverse and accessible industry.

As part of the initiative, the brand is teaming up with Kojey Radical to launch the Hoxton Hall Beat Bank – a resource that will provide young talent from Hackney, in east London, with samples, beats and instrumentals that they can remix. For this, Radical is calling on the music community to donate unused material.

Radical has also been providing in-person songwriting sessions and studio advice to the young creatives involved in Hoxton Hall’s artist development programme.

Alongside Radical, Dr. Martens has also worked with Mahalia and Batu. Last year, Batu worked with the brand to open a community-first music studio in Bristol, named First Light Studio.
