The UK music charity has announced its next round of funding to support aspiring young creatives.

Launched last year in collaboration with Butterz co-founder Elijah, the Youth Music NextGen Fund is an initiative aimed towards helping young musicians in the early stages of their career in the music industry. The funding is designed to support those held back by financial barriers.

Creatives aged 18-25 years old, and up to the age of 30 for those who identify as disabled, can apply for a grant of up to £2,500 to support their projects. The funding is open to young musicians based in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Applications for the third round of the NextGen Fund are now open and the deadline is 5pm (GMT) on 25 May. For more information on how to apply, head here.

The previous two rounds of funding have supported a wide range of ideas, including new labels and events as well as folk, grime, punk and pop projects. The initial NextGen Fund featured 37 creatives and the second helped fund 34 new projects within the industry.

Elijah has also shared advice for prospective applicants which you can read here, and there will be an online Q&A with MINA on how to write your application.
