We’re excited to announce the details for our Crack Magazine Stage at the inaugural Cala Mijas festival.
As part of the new 3-day event’s first edition, this September we’ll be hosting a line-up spanning high-energy dance through to indie-rock. For the Thursday, we’ve got pop icon Róisín Murphy and Liverpool-based alt-rock band Crawlers. On that first day of Cala Mijas, we’ll also be welcoming Australian musician Chet Faker and Irish rock outfit Inhaler.
The following day will see Hot Chip bring their high-octane synth-pop to the stage. We’ve also locked in a performance from seminal electronic innovators Kraftwerk on the Friday. 11-piece techno marching-band Meute – known for arranging well known dance cuts for drums and horns – are slated to play too. The same day Catalan singer Queralt Lahoz will bring her fusion of flamenco traditions with R&B to the platform.
On the Saturday bill, there’s the melancholic electronica of James Blake alongside Spanish bands Love of Lesbian and Leon Benavente. Catalan rapper Santa Salut will also play.
Cala Mijas is a new festival organised by the team behind Bilbao BBK. It comes to Costa del Sol from 1-3 September. Other acts set to perform across the weekend include Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Caribou, Kiddy Smile, Overmono, Ross From Friends and Leon Vynehall. Head here for tickets.
