The new opera is directed by Matt Copson and Anna Morrissey and adapted from the HBO film of the same name.
Caroline Polachek, who has previously spoken about her opera training, lends her vocals on Non Voglio Mai Vedere Il Sole Tramontare. The song features in Last Days – which is open now at the Royal Opera House until 11 October. The music for the opera production is composed by Oliver Leith, performed by the 12 Ensemble and features production from Danny L Harle.
Yesterday, Polachek shared an Instagram post revealing that a new track, entitled Sunset, is set to drop on 17 October. She also hinted at today’s release, adding: “something else tomorrow in case you thought you knew me”.
Last Days is an operatic adaptation of Gus Van Sant’s 2005 film, which is inspired by Kurt Cobain’s life and based around the Nirvana frontman’s final days.
