Scholarship applications open for new course on live events in the metaverse

The 12 week fully funded programme begins on 10 January and will be held at Bristol’s Access Creative College (ACC) in collaboration with Condense.

The scholarship will offer eight Bristol creatives the skills and knowledge to organise live events in the metaverse. The programme has been launched with a focus on increasing diversity in the tech industry and metaverse development.

The daytime course will cover digital graphics – including 3D modelling and photogrammetry – in addition to realtime VFX and enriching virtual worlds, which covers interactions, spacial sound, player movement and networking basics within the metaverse. As well as receiving college accreditation and experience with some of the latest technologies, participants will have access to real world industry skills and a potential career with Condense – who are using their technology to bring live events to the metaverse, enabling artists and performers to livestream events in real time as 3D volumetric video.

Applications for the scholarship are open now until 16 December. For more information and to apply head here.

This new programme and scholarship is a partnership between ACC, Condense and LocalGlobe. Speaking on the course, Condense Junior Software Engineer Diana said: “Please apply regardless of your academic background or qualifications and don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you fit all the criteria! It will be a great learning opportunity as you’ll get to work on some state of the art tech and, above all, it’ll be fun! The Condense team is really welcoming and everyone is there to help and make your time here as beneficial and exciting as possible. There is space for everyone who is passionate and interested in developing their technical skills.”
