The festival has unveiled the first acts for its 30th anniversary edition next year.

Taking place from 15-17 June 2023 in Barcelona, Sónar is set to be headlined by Bicep, with Oneohtrix Point Never, Max Cooper, Ryoji Ikeda and Erika de Casier also confirmed. In addition, the festival will welcome former Crack Magazine cover stars Fever Ray and Anz as well as Perera Elsewhere, Koreless, Grove and a collaboration between SHERELLE and Kode9.

Elsewhere on the bill – which Sónar has revealed via an AI-created visual campaign – there’s Shygirl, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Merca Bae and 700 Bliss – aka the collaborative project of Moor Mother and DJ Haram. Marina Herlop and CLARAGUILAR are set to perform exclusive new shows whilst Santiago Latorre and Colin Self team up to present the Spanish composer’s The Architecture of Friendship. Sónar has also locked in a series of back-to-back sets which includes Maricas resident ISAbella b2b Roza Terenzi, Call Super b2b Sedef Adasi, BADSISTA b2b Cashu and Bradley Zero b2b Moxie.

Speaking on next year’s edition, co-director of Sónar Enric Palau said: “The festival marks its 30th anniversary with an entirely electronic line-up that celebrates club culture, the role of the DJ as a cultural symbol of our time, and the diversity of sounds at the heart of today’s electronic music scene. It does so with a wide representation of emblematic artists – those who have grown alongside Sónar over the years and are now considered masters of the form- plus some of the hottest names in electronic music today”.

As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, Sónar will also hold editions in Lisbon and Istanbul next year. The 2023 events will begin in Lisbon, marking Sónar’s second outing in the Portuguese capital, from 31 March to 2 April and then head to Istanbul on 28 and 29 April, which will be the festival’s seventh edition there.
