Aphex Twin confirmed to close Dour Festival 2023

The Belgian festival takes place from 12-16 July.

Dour Festival has announced that this summer will see Aphex Twin play the closing set of the event, wrapping up the festival with an exclusive appearance in Belgium on the 16 July. The renowned producer and former Crack Magazine cover star – aka Richard James – makes his return to the Belgian music festival to play the main stage 14 years after he previously played there in 2009.

Other acts slated to play this year’s Dour Festival include 070 Shake, Boy Harsher, Bladee, Yung Lean, Show Me The Body, Lous and The Yakuza, Caribou and Overmono.Tickets for Dour Festival are on sale now. Head to the festival’s website for further information.

Last month, Aphex Twin shared an enigmatic teaser ahead of the announcement that he would be headlining Field Day this year and he has since been confirmed for a string of festival performances.

Back in September, Aphex Twin launched a free sample matching software called Samplebrain. Designed by James and built by engineer Dave Griffiths, the pair has been working on Samplebrain for the past two decades. In a detailed blog post, James explained that the idea for the sound design software came to him “when mp3s started to become a thing” and was inspired by Shazam.
