The new track marks the label’s first release for 2023.

London-based bassist, DJ and producer Marla Kether has today (22 February) released her debut solo single via Saffron Records. Entitled Revolve, the track features vocals from Brownswood Recordings artist Plumm and is the first of a string of releases Kether – a session bassist for the likes of Obongjayar and Oscar Jerome – has coming up this year.

Over the course of the coming months, Kether will release a new single every six weeks culminating in her debut EP due out in autumn. Forthcoming singles feature collaborations with Onipa frontman K.O.G., Solomon O.B. and Madeleine – who plays keyboard in Arlo Parks’ band. Kether formed part of Saffron‘s 2021 to 2022 artist development cohort alongside Medis, Ratiba Ayadi, Tallulah Blue and The Yard Woman.

Revolve is the first release of this year for Saffron’s label imprint, following on from last year’s HANAH EP Colours of Now & Then and Dutchie’s Satin Planet. The Bristol-based non-profit also recently hosted their 7 Days of Sound digital event, offering a week-long programme of music tech workshops for women, non-binary and trans people worldwide featuring sessions from Elena Colombi, Manuka Honey and XL Recordings in-house engineer Josette Joseph.
