The Bristol day and night festival will be held early next year.

Simple Things Festival will host its 10th edition in 2024, marking a return for the event for the first time since 2019. The multi-venue city festival – organised by Crack Magazine, Team Love and founder Matt Aitken – will offer a full day and night programme spanning music, art and technology.

The festival will take place at various venues across the city with the newly re-opened Bristol Beacon forming the central hub. Tickets and more information coming soon. Sign up to the Simple Things mailer for pre-sale access.

Previous editions of Simple Things Festival have seen performances from the late electronic pioneer SOPHIE – who played the festival in 2014 – Death Grips, Nicolas Jaar, Danny L Harle, AJ Tracey and Avalon Emerson. Top Boy star and rapper Kano has also previously performed as have the likes of Mogwai, Savages, Omar Souleyman, Ben UFO and the late Lee Scratch Perry.

The last edition of Simple Things took place in 2019 with Holly Herndon headlining the day programme, which saw her present a special audiovisual show of her AI-assisted record PROTO. It also featured performances from William Basinksi, Aïsha Devi, Big Joanie and a Hyperdub takeover – celebrating 15 years of Kode9’s label.

In the absence of the festival over the past few years, Simple Things has been hosting a series of standalone gigs. This includes a show from Mogwai tomorrow (15 February) in Bath.
