Ela Minus and DJ Python have tapped the Chilean-born techno producer for a new remix EP.
Ricardo Villalobos has put his spin on two tracks from Ela Minus and DJ Python. The New York-based pair first released their collaborative ♡ EP (pronounced “corazón”) in September 2022. Now, they are sharing a pair of remixes from Villalobos, who takes on EP tracks Kiss You and Abril Lluvias Mil – with the latter remix coming in at 40-minutes. The ♡ (Ricardo Villalobos Remixes) EP is out for digital release today (23 March) via Smugglers Way with a vinyl release slated for 7 July.
At the time of its release, ♡ was described as “an avowal of love as a radical, everlasting practice.” Speaking on the new remixes, Python said: “Villalobos is very meaningful to me since my teenage years. Too honoured to do something like this with him. The Michael Jordan of music to my eyes,” while Minus added, “What can I say? It’s a Ricardo Villalobos remix EP!”
