Sónar+D will take place at Palau de Congressos de Fira Montjuïc on 15, 16 and 17 June.

Sónar has announced the full programme for Sónar+D – the international meeting of digital culture and creative technologies helmed by the festival. With 130 activities taking place across the duration of the festival, the theme for this year centres on looking at the cultural, ethical, economic and industrial implications of AI and the new tools and creative processes linked to it.

Included in the programme, there’s Aphex Twin collaborator Weirdcore, robotics expert Kate Darling, DJ, writer and future-thinker Elijah and Barcelona creative studios Domestic Data Streamers and Playmodes. Sónar+D will be presented in a variety of formats including a new exhibition area – the Project Area – a festival of cinema created using AI, masterclasses and debate forums. There will also be symposiums featuring experts on topics such as innovation in music, the intersection between art, science and technology and the role of AI under Web3. Head to the Sónar+D section of the festival’s website for further information.

This summer, Sónar celebrates its 30th anniversary in Barcelona. The festival is set to welcome the likes of Fever Ray, Oneohtrix Point Never, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Anz, Perera Elsewhere and Koreless.

From 31 April to 2 April, Sónar staged its second Portuguese edition in Lisbon. Take a look back at the event with our In Photos: Sónar Lisboa 2023 feature.
