Entitled The Anonymous Project, it’s been described as a “new avenue for artists to present their work and for listeners to discover it”.
Utrecht festival Le Guess Who? is introducing a new performance format for its next edition. The concept, The Anonymous Project, is focused on artist anonymity. Before, during and after performances, artist identities will be concealed from audiences as they perform on stage within a cube structure, with specially commissioned scenography placed throughout the environment for the experience.
The project will take place on the opening night of the festival, 9 November, at TivoliVredenburg’s Grote Zaal. It will run alongside with programmes curated by Heba Kadry, Nala Sinephro, Slauson Malone 1 and Stereolab, featuring the likes of Nihiloxica, Damsel Elysium, Deena Abdelwahed and Zakia.
Le Guess Who? returns to Utrecht for its 16th edition on 9-12 November. Head to the festival’s website for tickets and further information and revisit five standout shows from last year’s event. You can also listen back to Damsel Elysium’s Sunday Mix below.
