New audiovisual festival INOTA launches in Hungary this summer

The likes of Overmono, Caterina Barbieri, ABADIR and former Crack Magazine cover star Blackhaine will play the debut edition.

A new audiovisual festival is heading to north-west Hungary. Running from 31 August to 3 September, INOTA is set to be held in a now-defunct thermal powerplant close to Lake Balaton, just an hour from Budapest. With a line-up spanning over 100 DJs, musicians and visual artists, the event has tapped Nils Frahm for an opening show with other appearances across the weekend from artists such as Daniel Avery, Space Afrika, rRoxymore, Paramida and KMRU.

Other names confirmed to play the inaugural edition include Slikback, Robert Henke, Rival Consoles and Lucrecia Dalt. On the DJ tip, Ellen Allien, Palms Trax, DJ Seinfeld, KI/KI and Nene H back-to-back Akua are all locked in for sets.

INOTA’s first outing will also feature an exhibition of light art – the country’s largest in an industrial setting – as part of its RADIATIONS programme. This will feature work created by both local and international artists with 14 light installations around the festival site for attendees to explore.

Day tickets and full weekend passes are on sale now. Head to INOTA’s website for further information. Listen back to Caterina Barbieri’s Sunday mix below.
