Perera Elsewhere, Shackleton and Coco Maria to play Gaswerk Art Days in Berlin

The first edition of the event runs from 28-30 July and celebrates six years of Gaswerksiedlung’s art and music community.

For its inaugural outing, Gaswerk Art Days will host a weekend of music, experimental performances, dance pieces, art installations and video screenings at the Berlin venue. Artists confirmed to play include Perera Elsewhere, Coco Maria, experimental band KUF and a collaboration between DJ, producer and drummer Ziggy Zeitgeist and Ghanaian percussionist Ekow Alabi Savage.

Elsewhere on the programme, Shackleton has been locked in to DJ, as has Morphine Records’ Marylou. On the collaborations tip, dub producer Deadbeat is set to link-up with electroacoustic composer Maarten Vos for a performance, steel pan champion Samuel Dubois will take to the stage as part of the Samuel Dubois band in a cross-genre performance also starring soca artist Triniboi Joocie, pianist and composer Aron Ottignon and drummer Jose Joyette. The show will double as the premiere for a new EP from the formation, forthcoming on on Urban Trout / Modulor Music.

Gaswerk Art Days is set to host 30 music performances across the weekend and will also offer attendees the chance to explore the space – with site-specific artworks and installations from artist in residency at the venue and studio space Aliou “Badou” Diack.
