Final season of Top Boy to premiere next month

The last instalment of the hit show comes to Netflix on 7 September.

Last April, Netflix confirmed there would be one more season of Top Boy. Today, the streaming platform has shared a trailer for the final season alongside sharing the release date. The third season of the series – starring Ashley Waters, Kane ‘Kano’ Robinson, Simbi Ajikawo (aka Little Simz) and Adwoa Aboah amongst others – is set to be released early next month.

This final season is the third for Netflix and fifth chapter of the show overall. Drake, who is the executive producer for the show, shared the trailer accompanied by the caption: “No.Loose.Ends… Top Boy, The Final Chapter”. Production on the final series of the show got underway last summer following the news confirming there would be one more season.

Last summer, in a press statement Waters and Robinson said, “While the journeys of Dushane and Sully have remained at the core of the show, the new characters that have entered the world of Top Boy have become a key part of the show’s legacy, representing each new storyline in a raw, authentic way. With all this being said,” they added, “and staying true to our original goal, every story must have an ending and so season three will be our finale. A chance to come full circle and end the journey in the right way.” Watch the trailer below.
