There’s a new Actress album coming soon via Ninja Tune.
The upcoming studio record is called LXXXVIII and will be released on 3 November. It was announced yesterday (12 September) with a new single titled Game Over ( e 1 ), which you can listen to below. An earlier single, Push Power ( a 1 ) was premiered by Actress at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
LXXXVIII is the follow-up to 2022’s Dummy Corporation EP and 2020’s Karma and Desire. A press statement describes the new record as paying “dividends to meditate on an instrumental facet of its creation: game theory” – with the process and thinking behind games like chess “fundamental” to Actress’ undertaking of the 13-track album.
Pre-order LXXXVIII here. Actress is heading out on tour this month, too, with festival dates at events like Galicia’s WOS Festival as well as support dates with James Blake on his UK and European tour.
