Karen Nyame KG launches new label Rhythm In The City

The imprint was unveiled today alongside a new single from her forthcoming EP.

Rhythm In The City is a new label from DJ, producer and broadcaster Karen Nyame KG. Announced today (27 September), the new label is born from a successful event series curated by the artist. RITC is an extension of my own production signature that embodies a multitude of styles: UK funky, altè R&B, Afro altè, gqom, amapiano, highlife, Afro house,” she says. “The RITC sound is unconventionally rhythmic, a hub for genre-bending, Afro-electronic music. The label is all about breaking conventions and formulas in electronic dance music.”

The first release on the new label comes from KG herself, who will release a new EP entitled Red via RITC this autumn. P.L.L (Pretty Little Liar), the project’s lead single, was released to accompany the label announcement. She describes the track as a “diary entry in music format”, reflecting on her own emotions of heartbreak, jealousy and unrequited love.
