Loraine James, Kate NV and Gayance to play POP Montreal 2023

The 22nd edition of the Canadian festival takes place from 27 September to 1 October.

POP Montreal has revealed the full line-up for 2023. Headliners include Candi Staton – who will play as part of her farewell tour – Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Junglepussy. Also confirmed to play there’s Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul, Kate NV, Ratboys and former The Collections, Vol.2 cover star Loraine James.

Other names locked in include Mali Obomsawin, Hand Habits, Skullcrusher and Anjimile. Representing the Montreal music scene, there’s Yves Jarvis, Martyn Bootyspoon, pop-harpist Emilie Kahn, La Securité and DJ and producer Gayance.

Alongside the music, POP Montreal will host its film programme presenting ten screenings that explore the world of music and musicians across a range of film genres – from documentaries and dramas to experimental works. The festival’s annual exhibition Art POP also makes a return, this year curated by Alexis and Clara Cousineau. There will also be a programme of discussions covering AI and music, digital marketing and the event’s first ever music video showcase, all of which is part of the POP Symposium.
