Bella Báguena shares new video for La Calle

The Valencian multi-disciplinary artist marks the end of an era within her work with this new video.

Bella Báguena has shared a new video for La Calle. With the visualiser – directed by Julia Weber – she shares a tale that acts as metaphor for trans women’s experiences out and about in daily life and the fear that can be part of this. She describes the video as “a powerful warning about the need for awareness when navigating the outside world.”

The new work marks a turning point in Báguena’s artistic career. Having recorded and released her first tracks in 2018, La Calle brings this era of her music to a close, making way for a new project in the new year. For the past few months, she has been working on new material that showcases a new side to her output.

As part of Báguena’s involvement with SHAPE+, she has performed at festivals including Construction Festival’s Dresden edition, Tranceparenti, Les Siestes, Mains d’Oeuvres and Rokolectiv. Watch the video for La Calle below.
