The Clifton Downs show is a climate action acelerator event and will take place on 25 August 2024.

Massive Attack have announced their first UK date in five years. The band will play a hometown gig next summer and the Act 1.5 event aims to be the lowest carbon show of its size staged so far. Massive Attack will also be joined by a line-up of special guests to be announced.

As part of the event’s climate action efforts, there will be a localised presale to deter people from travelling by private car, the event arena will be meat free and the entire site will be powered by 100% renewable energy. Additionally, there will be a rail travel incentive initiative, free electric shuttles after the show and a new woodland plantation created in the South West in partnership with The Royal Forestry Society and Train Hugger.

Massive Attack’s Act 1.5 event marks the culmination of the band’s climate activism over the past 25 years which also includes collaboration with climate scientists and anaylsts from the Tyndal Centre for Climate Change Research.

“We’re chuffed to play our home city again and to be able do it in the right way.”, 3D aka Robert del Naja says of the forthcoming show. “In terms of climate change action there are no excuses left; offsetting, endless seminars and diluted declarations have all been found out – so live music must drastically reduce all primary emissions and take account of fan travel. Working with pioneering partners on this project means we can seriously move the dial for major live music events & help create precedents that are immediately available.”

Pre-sale tickets will be available from 6 December and general sale tickets from 8 December. Head here to sign-up.
