Kim Gordon is releasing a new album in March

The Collective, Gordon’s second solo album, is due to be released on 8 March via Matador.

It will serve as a follow-up to her 2019 solo debut, No Home Record. The album’s lead single BYE BYE and its accompanying visuals – directed by Clara Balzary, with cinematography by Christopher Blauvelt – are out now, with the Sonic Youth co-founder also announcing a number of US tour dates this week.

In our review of No Home Record, we described Gordon’s first ever solo album “an exercise in her very specific sort of irony… politically and personally loaded, but also as silly and self-aware as you’d expect from a musician so seasoned in cutting her targets – ego, masculinity, consumerism, to name a few – down to size.”

Check out the new video, which stars her daughter, Coco Gordon Moore, in the player above. Pre-order the album here and check out the tour dates below.
