Martyna Basta, bela and Lamina to play Belgium’s schiev festival next month

The Brussels-based festival returns to multidisciplinary arts centre Beursschouwburg from 2 to 3 February.

The likes of Krakow-based artist and Stroom affiliate Martyna Basta, performance artist and musician bela, Brussels local Lamina, Malmö-based sound artist Felisha Ledesma and French-Ghanaian artist PÖ are confirmed for shows at the avant-garde pop event’s 9th edition, which focuses on up-and-coming Belgian talent alongside international names. Sebastien Forrester, Mika Oki and Apulati Bien are among the artists confirmed for residency projects with the festival.

Ledesma will also host an introduction to modular synthesis workshop on 3 February, guiding attendees through the basics of the software and modular synth terminology. There will also be a talk with Julian Henriques themed around ‘the joy of sound’ as well as a record market featuring a slew of Belgian imprints.
