Pirate’s Residency programme returns for 2024

The talent development programme is open to bands, solo artists and DJs based in the UK, US, Germany and Ireland.

Today Pirate has announced the second iteration of its Residency programme – which aims to offer emerging artists paid performance opportunities at festivals and venues plus airplay and guest slots on radio stations.

Last year saw Pirate support over 30 resident artists with its talent development scheme. For its second iteration, Pirate is partnering with 13 festivals, venues and radio stations including Parklife, Tramlines, El Dorado, Y Not and Voices. US partners also include LA’s dublab, Cascade Equinox and nightlife venues Catch One and El Cid.

Applications for Residency are open now until 17 March. The application process includes a short form, original music submission for live acts and producers and an example mix for DJs. This year the programme is also expanding to offer more comprehensive career support through mentorship, studio access and promotion through Pirate’s extended network. Head here to apply.

“With Residency’s launch last year, we saw over 30 of our artists play at festivals, some for the first time,” says Rebecca Mason-Evans who leads the project. “Our aim is to keep widening these paths for new talent to reach new audiences.”
