Sonic Acts Biennial returns for 2024

The Amsterdam music and arts event has announced the line-up for its 30th anniversary edition this year.

Sonic Acts Biennial takes place from 2 February to 24 March with a series of performances, special commissions, workshops, a symposium and an exhibition. Ahead of time, Sonic Acts has confirmed Dis Fig, KIM KHAN, Ylva Falk, Kasimyn and Ican Harem (Gabber Modus Operandi) amongst others to join the programme.

The 30th anniversary edition will take place in various venues across Amsterdam, including more than 50 events across 15 locations, from club spaces to concert settings. The events kicked off with a club night last weekend and there’s another one this Friday (9 February) at OT301 with sets from aya, M.E.S.H., Rabit and more. The main festival weekend will then take place from 23-25 February across multiple venues.

This year’s Sonic Acts Biennial is organised under the title The Spell of the Sensuous, taking inspiration from philosopher and ecologist David Abram’s 1996 book. With respect to this, the festival will focus on “multi-sensory cultural practices responding to the climate emergency and global geopolitics”.
